About Airport Mostar (OMO)

International Airport Mostar is one of the four airports in Bosnia and Herzegovina, established in 1965, primarily for domestic flights. After the Sarajevo Winter Olympics in 1984, it gained international status. It is located 7 kilometers (4.5 miles) south of Mostar and is the closest airport to Medjugorje. Prior to 1965, this airport was local, with a large concrete runway used by aircraft manufacturer SOKO for testing and delivering military aircraft. Currently, the airport primarily serves charter flights for Catholics making the pilgrimage to nearby Medjugorje.
